Tony Oliver

Tony Oliver was born in Whitby, North Yorkshire in 1963, growing up in a Seaside Fishing port that was once the home of explorer Captain James Cook RN he developed a love of travel and Ships. Initially studying Town & Country Planning and leaving University to work in Retail, before moving on into a Transport and warehouse Supervisor roles, which in turn developed into a Global Supply Chain Career.

As Operations Director for a major 3PL, Tibbett & Britten (subsequently part of DHL) he led 12 European Distribution Centre Warehouse & Transport activities whose customers included most of the High Street Retailers including, ASDA, Reebok, Fred Perry, Marks & Spencers, Aldo Shoes and Duracell. In this role he developed and led the Companywide Change programme and assessed external Companies using Business Excellence models.

In this role an opportunity to work for the Burton/Debenhams group expanded his responsibilities to Supplier Inbound/Global Shipping. This involved controlling and developing the Factory Outbound to Global DC Supply Chain as well as the DC to customer, and allowed him to work in Asia Pacific and the USA.

Subsequent roles include SVP for Asia Pacific for Clarks Shoes which involved leading and improving the service in Retail, B2B and B2C utilising 9 regional DC’s based in Dubai, India, Turkey, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China and Japan. This role also worked closely with Suppliers in India, Cambodia, Vietnam & China in improving lead-time and quality. In this Role he was based in Asia.
